How to estimate fare
All taxis in Shenzhen have followed the same pricing standards since May 5, 2017. Basic charging items and standards are as follows.
1. Basic fare
1) Flag-fall fare: 10 yuan for the first two kilometers
2) Metered fare: 2.6 yuan for every additional kilometer
3) Empty return surcharge (6 a.m. – 11 p.m.): if the ride exceeds 25 kilometers, 30% of the metered fare of the exceeding part will be charged; if the ride exceeds 50 kilometers, 60% of the metered fare of the exceeding part will be charged.
4)Midnight surcharge (11 p.m. to 6 a.m.): 30% of the flag-fall fare and the metered fare.
5)Waiting surcharge: 0.8 yuan per minute.
6)Luggage surcharge: 0.5 yuan for every luggage bigger than 0.2 cubic meter and outweighing 20 kilograms.
7)Phone booking fees: 2 yuan per ride
8)Toll fees for roads, bridges, tunnels and ferries shall be paid by the passenger.
2. Fuel surcharge
The fuel surcharge depends on the 92 fuel price. For every 0.87 yuan’s increase in the price of one litre of 92 fuel, the fuel surcharge will rise by one yuan.
If the 92 fuel price is between 4.77 and 5.64 yuan per litre, no fuel surcharge will be charged; if the price is between 5.65 and 6.52 yuan per litre, 1 yuan will be charged for each trip; if the price is between 6.53 and 7.40 yuan per litre, 2 yuan will be charged for each trip; if the price is between 7.41 and 8.28 per litre, 3 yuan will be charged for each trip, and so forth until the basic fare is adjusted.
How to claim lost items
It is not uncommon for passengers to leave their items on taxis. Looking for items left on taxis for passengers used to be a difficult task as there are quite a few taxi companies in the city, and each has a different way to deal with items left by passengers. To help passengers find items left on taxis, the Transport Bureau of Shenzhen Municipality has set up a “lost & found center for items left on taxis”. You may try one of the three ways listed below to look for your lost items:
Inquire by phone
If you have the taxi invoice with you or can provide relevant information such as the name of the taxi driver, license plate number or driving license number of the taxi driver, you may call 12328 to get the phone number of the taxi company for further inquiry.
Inquire in person
The Transport Information Inquiry Service Center of Shenzhen Municipality has set up a window for the reception of passengers coming to report lost items. It offers help to passengers who can provide neither the taxi invoice nor the information about the taxi or the driver. Passengers provide information including the time and location they get on/get off the taxi as well as their travel routes, and staffers will use GPS to help passengers find out the taxi they took.
Work time: 8:00-20:00 (all year round)
Add: Lost & Found Center, 8/F, Radio Management Building, Huaqiang Road South, Futian District (福田区华强南路无线电管理大厦八楼失物查询大厅)
Report loss by phone
Passengers can call 12328 to report a loss. 12328 is the 24-hour service supervision hotline of the Transport Bureau of Shenzhen Municipality which also handles complaints, inquiries, and suggestions from citizens.
Staffers at the lost & found center record item loss information reported by passengers via the hotline and release it to taxi companies on a daily basis. Taxi companies verify items brought back by taxi drivers and contact passengers after verification to return lost items.
